Emma Langford
EMMA LANGFORD
Emma Langford is a singer-songwriter from Limerick. Her vocal style blends Irish lilt with folk and jazz, and her guitar work delicately complements an intuitive sense of melody; Langford has woven a sound which Phil Coulter describes as “a breath of fresh air”.
Wry and insightful penmanship combined with a cheerful stage-demeanour prove to create an engaging live presence.
The young artist has supported internationally recognised artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Declan O’Rourke, Eddi Reader and Hermitage Green to name but a few.
In 2016 Emma successfully crowd-funded and launched her debut EP which was toured at sold-out dates across the country. The EP received airtime on 2fm, RTÉ Radio1, LyricFM, and Newstalk.
She completed a solo Irish tour in September, ahead of a tour of Germany and Switzerland with the Irish Folk Festival this winter.
Her debut album, Quiet Giant, released October 2017, has received praise from Ed Smith (Today FM), Tony Clayton Lea (Irish Times) and Blindboy Boatclub (Rubberbandits).
Langford was named “Best Solo Female Artist” for 2017 by Pure M Magazine, and was Hot Press Magazine’s one-to-watch in the summer of 2016.
